Hello All,

I am new to MS SQLServer and need some advice.

I will be working with SQL Server 2000, writing Stored Procedures. Please suggest a good book that will help me write efficient SQL Code for SQL Server.

I have SQL/PL-SQL skills (Oracle) so SQL is not new, the syntax will be different.

Thank you for your help.

Try The Guru's Guide to SQL Server Boxed Set by Ken Henderson. $75 at Amazon for three great books; YMMV elsewhere. If that's too much for you, get his The Guru's Guide to SQL Server Stored Procedures, XML, and HTML. But the set is a steal, and all three books are worth it.

Thank you very much. Appreciate the quick reply.

Useful Reference Books for SQL Server Professionals faq183-3324

There's abook in there that has both T-SQl and Pl/SQl code which can be really helpful if you are transitioning from one to the other.

Questions about posting. See faq183-874

Thank You SQL Sister
