Hi,

Ive built a number of systems with ASROCK KVM2 boards and AMD cpus of various speeds. Dr Thermal heatsinks and 300 watt PSUs.

They all boot up and pass burn in tests without any problems. Diagnostics show correct CPU speed and normal operating temps. Memory tests fine

They are failing to POST but only occassionally. You can turn them on 10 times and they'll fail to POST 3 times or so. Once they do boot they will run 24 hours at full capacity with no problems.

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks very much for your help.

It sounds to me like you have a slight timing problem with the components on your MB. Check to see if your Motherboard supports the type and manufacturer of the memory you have installed. You can also try different memory settings in Bios to correct this problem.

another thing to check for:

make sure that the Powerswitch and Resetswitch in the case are functioning as they should!

had many a probs with switches that didn't work like they should (systems not booting or resetting once in a while)

Ben
