System Tray icons missing

I just noticed that not all my System Tray icons are appearing. Even when I click on "Show hidden icons" certain ones do not appear. I needed to use a certain program this morning that should have had an icon in the ST. I knew the program was running because it showed up under processes in the task manager, but no ST icon. I did get it to appear in the ST by diabling almost all the other items using msconfig and rebooting. It's like there is a limited to how many items can be displayed in the ST. This is XP with SP2. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
