In my attempt to restore a w2k DC I restored users' profiles and documents from backups, and then a system state backup. Well, this caused the "Directory Services could not start because of the following error: The system cannot find the file specified. Error status: 0xc000000f." error. As it suggested, I tried to start with Directory Services repair.. Did that, and while the machine boots to logon, now I'm unable to log on with both the local admin account I used for restoring and the admin supposedly resurrected with System State restore because the server claims that either the user or pw is incorrect. Recovery console is also out of the question, as it too prompts for an admin password. Hooray for ntbackup..
