Hi, I have system stability problems with my pc. I have a 1.33ghx Athlon on a Soyo KT-400 platinum mobo. It will not run at rated speed, it loses the video signal even when idle. Running at 1000mhz it is stable when idle but as soon as any video intensive s/w is run like games or 3dmark 2001 it crashes with loss of video signal. This is OS independant as I dual boot 98 and XP and this happens on both. I have read a few threads that suggest that it could be faulty memory or processor and also lots on via chipset being dodgy? I intend to upgrade both the processor and ram when I have the money but would like to find out what's causing the grief. I recently swapped from an Asus A7A mobo because of similar stability problems. This board did work for several years fine until probs arose. I'm hoping it's not the video card. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I unfortunately do not have any other AMD processors or DDR memory to test at the mo.
(Case is heavily modded with several lighting effects, fans, leds and even a d.i.y. water feature but problem still occurs with basic system) Thanx for any help
