Hi,
I have a consultant in house working on windows 2000 server application (erp)? After making a mistake in deleting a file on the erp program? He decided to restore from backup tape. After restore I cannot log in to windows AD only local administrator account? There are no errors in event log. I removed machine from domain ok and rejoined the domain ok! When I try to log in the message I get is "the system cannot log you onto this domain because the system account in its primary domain is missing or the password on that account is incorrect" the thing is I know it is correct and I have tried other user names that have logged onto that box (IT staff) misleading error I know but I need a solution. Any help would much appreciated.

Remove the system from the domain again. Delete the computer account from AD. Wait for the change to replicate to all DC's. Delete any DNS/WINS entries associated with this computer. THEN.. Re-add the system to the domain.
