Will closing out every program except the explorer in my close program box free up more of my System's Resources?

I wouldnt recomend it if you try to close everything out your system will proboly crash.

to answer you question YES you can close everything but explorer. of course what you closed wont be used anymore but for JUST windows only explorer is needed... js error; 67 on line; 36 of signature.class

Closing programs to free resources is a common misconception. Once the program loads and consumes memory (RAM and Virtual), the only efficient way to get it back is to reboot. Of course, we're only talking about Win9x operating systems.

Some apps do release resources efficiently, but then again, that's in a perfect world. In the real world, not many exist and you're better off not letting the app load in the first place at startup.

In order to prevent low resources, there are a number of things you can try, but none are guaranteed to work - only help.

Visit the FAQ section under Windows 95/98 for more info.
