Basically it's a new install...trying to make it work..

Thanks,

Give a little more info, like what are you dialing, what you hear, ect ect.

I'm installing a new CP vm system release 1.07, 702i tower. Installed the CP application and provided the peps, ran the config wizard, programmed all the switch side Option 11c. My problem is, when I boot up the CP and am ready to accept calls, when dialing the service DN table that I provided, I get no response from the system prompt.I do not hear anything (dead air). At this point, what should I do?

Thanks,

Oh one more thing, I went in and monitored my channels and they were actually idle in picking up the call, still I don't get the system prompt for voice messaging.

Thanks,

Try to reinstall your language prompts in Config Wizard and reboot sever. Sounds far fetched but it worked in the field for me. Also a while back Nortel was giving a free upgrade to 2.0 on a bulletin from 1.07. Good Luck

installing the lang prompts will be the 1st thing nortel recogmends, if you loose prompts, that usually cures it. after that they want a service pack reinstall

ok, tried to do what u suggested. still didn't work. I even uninstalled the cp software and reinstalled, installed peps, ran config wizard. Also went to CP admin client (system prompt customization - highlighted "choose prompt text" just to see if system prompt works and still get dead air). Any other suggestions would really be helpful.

Thanks,

I also noticed when I uninstalled the software, I couldn't uninstall the Call Pilot Language. When I reinstalled the software, should it have overwritten it?

pepbuster..you mentioned that Nortel was offering a free upgrade for 2.0...where can I get this.

Thanks,

check with your vendor, the labor is not free but for a while the upgrade was free. mostly because of bugs. the question seems right, but the lang does not get blown out on a new install. a server image will delete that folder, but a install wizard should not. i was told that the lang folder uses a table almost like an internal fat, and that can get stepped on, causing the lang disk to have to be re installed. the nortel that was helping me with that problem was not very good at english but knew his software

the peps that I am using for this are: NM010709G008S and NM010709G033S

I'll check with Nortel if these are the most recent peps for my release 1.07 software.

Thanks and if you both have any other suggestions, I would really appreciate it!!!

Take a trak in ld80 on the TN's for the CP, and check if MSB is activated.

another point i remembered, i had to delete my voice prompts and then do the install on one site, just the new install didn't fix the problem. did a install voice prompts, lady in the box would not repeat numbers, did a install voice prompts, same trouble. called nortel, they dialed in, did a delete file, then the install, the world was a happy place. except i wasted 4 hours i didn't need to.

Your installing 1.07 and this is a new install? The 702T has been replaced by the 703T as well. When you call the CDN does CP even answer? Latest PEPs for CP 1.07 end at 104s or 108s not sure of which it is. Does the CP take cntl of the CDN?

Make sure you're using the correct vintage MGATE card. The wrong vintage will give you dead air. You'll have to refer to the NTP...I don't have mine available at the moment.

And also make sure your DSX-30 Cable is cabled correctly to your MPB16 board.

Thanks to all, the problem was the MPB16 board.
