System Platform Patch install via command line CM6.4? 1

Is it possible to patch System Platform via command line? I have a 6.4.0 who's web interface is broke (stuck in a redirect loop). I see there is a 6.4.1 patch out with a note "System Platform 6.4.1 installs on Avaya Aura® System Platform R6.4.0 the same as a patch." I wanted to give this a shot before reloading the server.

I've gotten away with "rpm –ivh vsp-patch-6.3.4.08007.0.noarch.rpm" in cdom. Now, that's on cdom, patching cdom. Not dom0 or anything else.

If it's your last thing before reimaging, give it a shot I guess.

That's pretty much all I'm trying to do so I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion!

Looks like the patch part worked but unfortunately did not fix my issue. I was hopeful when the web interface gave me the new EULA to accept but then after accepting I got stuck in the same redirect loop again.

if memory serves, the patch I referenced was defective and eventually would java memory leak to infinity and never work again, even if you put a new patch atop.

I think when I "ps -ef" I'd see 2 javas running vs 1 java on a working cdom

So yeah, if your bug is similar, you're in tomcat troubleshooting territory and something went corrupt and bugged out that a patch wasn't going to fix once it broke.

System Platform has many many issues. First off, if running on an S8300D do not go above SP6.3.8. System Platform may go into a restart loop if using certificate is signed by a sub CA (such as System Manager subordinate to an Enterprise CA). Also look at the tomcat logs. Found some issues during upgrade of specific links missing resulting in failures. You can fix the certificate issue by creating a self signed cert and replacing the cert and key files, deleting the CA file, and modifying the server.xml.

FYI, I'm in the middle of collecting all the info for 20 S8300D servers so I can open tickets with Avaya (have to open one per server) to fix the subCA issue. Really sucks.
