anyone have any suggestions on a good system optimizer for 2000 pro. i think my system is running a little slower than it should and i dont know how twek out other than a optimizer program.

go to cnet downloads and do a search for tweakui

This will give you the ability to tweak most anything.

You can also use TCPOptimizer to set your TCPIP settings to optimal in your registry. It is a simple utility that will give you recomendations, and also a button to accept them if you choose.

Good luck, and happy computing True knowlege is not the knowing in and of itself, but in the knowing of how and where to find the answers.

Have you done some of the usual things?

- Check what programs are running when windows starts up & stop those you don't need - can help with this.

- Run disk clean up (start, programs, accessories, system tools)

- Clear out IE cache - Internet Options, general tab, Temporary Internet files, delete files button

- Uninstall any apps you no longer use.

- defragment hard drive

- Clean up registry ( - power tools)

- Fixed size paging file (max & min size the same).

There are more.
