For what ever reason my System log contains no data, it shows as having 2000 + entries but they are not visable. My Application log is the same way but if I refresh the entries are visable. I saw another post with same type issue but no resolution. Has anyone else seen this issue and possible give me some ideas on how to fix. Thanks

I had the same problem on a 2000 SBS. Server had some major problems and event viewer was blank. After shutting down some non-needed services and doing a major cleanup on the server, the event log came back online. Dont know how I did it but...

Grabbed this from another forum, you can try it if corruption is the problem...

Just solved the issue.

"Clearing the logs from event viewer wouldn't work. I had to disable event service, restart the server, delete *.evt in C:\WINNT\system32\config\, enable and start event service again.

It looks like the evt files go corrupt for some strange reason... shame I had to loose all events up to now."

Oh, and by the way, you should be able to save whatever is in there by clearing and save when prompted. Makes for a messy file but if you need the events...
