Hi there,

I have managed to hose the system image of my Catalyst 3000 Switch, which I recently bought second-hand. It now comes up with "Cisco Catalyst Boot Firmware P/N 57-1327-02, Copyright 1995" and "- System image is invalid. Download required."
I have tried to download a replacement from Cisco's website and also searched the web for many hours now, but cannot find anything suitable.
If anyone could please help me with this, I would really appreciate it, and I am willing to pay for a copy of the correct system image software, if necessary!

Many thanks in advance! maxx (maxxuk@btopenworld.com)

Max,

You need to call Cisco's tech support. They will help you download a new image and walk you through the installation.

Many thanks for your advice INIKIS, will try it, although I really wonder wether Cisco's support will be helpful towards a "small fish" like me.....we'll see, I'll call them tomorrow and provide feedback about how helpful they were.

Regards,

maxx

You can only get access to the images on Cisco's website if your company subscribes to their support services. Cisco usually will give you 1 free TAC case. Give em a call at 1-800-553-NETS and have your switch's serial number ready.

Cisco will treat any size "fish" with respect. They are great in the tech support departmnet. The only thing wrong with them is their website and their prices. :)

Many thanks JEFF and BADDOS, this all sounds a lot better than what I am used to as regards support in general, maybe CISCO are the big exception I haven't come across, yet- we'll see.
I agree with you BADDOS, their prices are definitely beyond the reach of a private customer, and their web page is quite badly structured, just reminds me of those related to banks, insurances and public transport..:)

However, again MANY THANKS!

Regards,

maxx
