When I logon to my xp system(up to date service pack wise)it hangs for 2 minutes and then allows me to open up applications, like IE and such. Only info in event viewer is this under the system event viewer
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
cdudf_XP

how do I go about correcting this or disabling this driver from starting? Its not under services.

TIA
Andrew

I found this info from another forum through google:

I had the same problem (found the error through Event Viewer). I think
the drivers may have had something to do with DirectCD or Easy CD
Creator, which I have uninstalled yet still got the errors. Here is
how I got rid of the message:

In regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM, and for each
ControlSetXXX you have (including CurrentControlSet), go to Services
and on the cdudf_XP and UdfReadr_xp keys, set "Start" to the value of
4.

By looking around, I have come to the following conclusion for the
"Start" values: 2=automatic, 3=manual, 4=disabled. I don't know what 0
and 1 are though. BTW, some of these are the same services you see in
the Administrative Tools/Services control panel.

Have you tried the standard stuff, such as disabling everything except critically needed apps in msconfig and rebooting, or running SFC from the command line?? always worth a shot before hacking into your registry....

How often is the message about cdudf_XP appearing in the Event Viewer?

Maybe you should check for updates and patches to Roxio.

fixed it, thanks gang, disabled the cdudf_xp and found out that the network bridge feature somehow got enabled, disabled the network bridge and the system no longer hangs.
