NW 7.2, backup server Windows Server 2003.
Server is dedicated for backup, i.e. there are not any other applications on it.

Backup saveset is Legato nsr directory + system directories (SYSTEM DB:\, SYSTEM FILES:\ and SYSTEM STATE:\).
In one moment SYSTEM DB:\ starts to fail and it fails constantly last few weeks.
Other savesets are very OK.

Does anybody have some idea what could be specific with mentioned saveset (SYSTEM DB:\) to be failed during the backup??

What error messages are you getting in the daemon.log?
What changes have you made to the system? Perhaps patching it or changing some access rights or something?

Cheers!
Maverick

Here is the error from daemon.log

* chelsea:SYSTEM DB:\ save: VSS Snapshot is disabled for SYSTEM DB:\ and will not be used.
* chelsea:SYSTEM DB:\ aborted due to inactivity

I doubt that some changes you mentioned have been done, but I'll check it ...

Could it be a license problem (VSS enabler) ?

No, I Have enough VSS licenses.
However, even I haven't enough licenses, VSS should be disables only, but backup of system files hould be done.
Moreover, other system savesets are backuping OK.

Hi,
go to the client Object and set on Tab "Miscellaneous" the Save operations to VSS:*=off to disble VSS for thsi Client, if this is, what you want to do
