System Crashes after CMOS changes

When system boots it reports "settings changed or unworkable CPU" it then allows you to F1 or DEL. F1 works fine the computer boots and operates as normal. However if you Enter the BIOS and attempt to set the settings or even roll back to fail safe defaults. Upon Saving and exiting the system hangs and must be powered off.

Haven't run into too many CMOS problems before, attempted to clear the CMOS and also changed the battery. To no effect, the problem persists.

What happens when you go into the bios, make no changes and simply save and exit?

"settings changed or unworkable CPU" sounds like a mismatched FSB/multiplier setting. What change caused this to occur?

Ok to answer all three questions in order..

ElectronicsFreak - YES I did unplug before reseting the BIOS

Mainegeek - It doesn't matter if I make changes or not. Once in the BIOS if you select "Save and Exit" and then "Y" the system locks up.

WishDiak - The System had been stored over the winter for a seasonal business. It hasn't been used for months. Unit was unplugged the HD was removed and placed in safe storage. The box simply took up floor space.

Gloryhound, I did not mean any offense when I asked that question I just ask it because its easy to forget sometimes. Sounds like a possible corrupted bios. My advice find the newest version for it and flash it. Let us know if that takes care of it.
