Does Cisco IOS support syslog?

We use this wiht our Linux boxes to send infromation to a Kiwi Syslog Daemon.

If so, what is the snytax to reference an IP?

IS this available on switches as well as routers?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

logging x.x.x.x

You can also change the facility it uses by default with the command:

logging facility ?

Where ? is one of various facilities. If your IOS device is a router or a layer-3 switch it is generally advisable to specify the source interface to use for the syslog messages:

logging source-interface xxx
