The sysinfo control in VB6 can reveal what operating system is being used, but seems limited to 0=unidentifed 2=Win95 3=NT.
Is there any way of establishing with more precision the other variants e.g. Win 98;Win98SE;Win ME;Win 2000;Win XP ??

SysInfo1.OSVersion gives 5.01 for XP Pro and 5.0 for W2K pro

You can also get build no Let me know if this helps

I am assuming that you want to get the system info from your VB app while it is running. Add the VB About
dialog form, It has a system ifo button with code. You can use this form or cut and paste the relevant code. Thanks and Good Luck!

Which should give a clue as to how much better XP is compared to W2K...

Shouldn't there be a minus sign somewhere? [/b][/i][/u]*******************************************************
