Hey guys,
Can some please tell me wha the correct syntax is erase the existing configuration of the router or can some one tell me how to reset it to factory settings? Thanks in advance

-Jaime

In a router on the console port just issue the command "write erase" . Then reload the router , it will ask you if you want to save existing config and you say "no" . then reload it , or you can just issue the command write erase then power off the router ,the next time you power it on it will have no config .

The current syntax is 'erase startup-configuration'; either will work.
