Hi,

I have two different SWFs on a webpage that need to load at exactly the same time.

I have lines moving across one of them, and the lines need to match up to the other one, so that they move from one to the other seamlessly. However, if one loads before the other, the lines of one will move a few frames before the other, completely destroying the effect.

I need a way to set it up so that neither swf will start until they are both loaded.

Perhaps I could use an XML document? Or somehow else get them to talk to each other? Is there an easier way?

Thankyou for any ideas you may have.

Kind Regards,

Hi Old,

Thank you so much for the link, I'l be working on that and let you know how it goes.

Just one question. I'm not sure how streaming a blank sound would make them both run at the same speed? Can you give me any more info on that or a link?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Chris

Well I don't know how different the movies are (outside of the "common apparent" lines), but if they are somewhat different in content, eventhough they may have the same framerate, one movie could actually play slower than the other. By setting a "blank" (or other sound) to "stream", on both movies, you're actually forcing the player to try and constantly match the set framerate (dropping video frames if needed...), thus a better chance to keep both movies in sync than if you didn't do this. Not saying that sync will be necessarily maintained... Just that IMHO, there's abetter chance that it will...
