Anyone tried this yet? I've never had stability issues with prior versions but my experience with V10 so far doesn't make me very happy.

- Server crashes when trying to install
- System Console can't discover servers

Marv, Symantec is getting so damn bloated now.
Version 10 on windoze has what 4-5 SYS drivers and
makes my P4 act like a '486. Half the time LiveUpdate has to be reloaded 5 times before it "sticks". The NLM app just creams my servers. And it doesnt do jack on a Groupwise system cause the FLAIM databases are encrypted and Symantec cant read into the FLAIM records and sift through the attachments........capiche?

Im sorry dude ive switched to NOD32 and loving it.
Full system scan takes no more than 5% CPU.

I'm a big fan of SAV 9. Light, simple, haven't ever had it crash a server. easy to manage and update. (unlike Mcafee that has a list of TIDS devoted to its crashes).

SAV10 doesn't look much different, but so far it has been a hassle.

Although you should know I'm talking about the NETWARE version, not Winblows.

Therefore, Marvhuffaker, you are say that Symantec Coporate Edition 10, is not working well on Novell?
I have to install this SAV, for a customer, and I read that it works on Novell netWare 6.5 sp2 ( because I have to install NW 6.5).
So I need to prepare for problems, with this antivirus?

I have seen other reports of problems as well, but it seems to vary. On my own network, it works fine and I can't make my server crash.

So the answer is, I don't know. You may need to do some testing before you deploy it in your network.

There are a couple posts in the symantec forums here on tek-tips.

I found that there is some conflict on the server. If i strip the server and only run base OS, SAV installs and runs fine. If I load everything up, it becomes unstable.

I haven't done enough testing to determine the source of the problem. I suspect Compaq agents.

I can run GroupWise and NDPS, Apache, Java/Tomcat without any conflicts.

I tested it in a lab environment, nw65, sp3 and had no problems but didn't work well on spyware. Ended up installing Panda Business Secure and the install and management is almost too easy.
