I have an ACS system Key mode and would like to switch it to Hybrid mode.
Is there a way to this without loosing all programming? If so How can I can change it?
Normally you want to make the change you describe at the very beginning of the programming chores. I honestly don't know what the ramifications are of switching modes "after the fact". I wouldn't count on any of the migrated programming to work as you expect it.
My personal approach would be to use the Partner Administration software to grab an XMG file, which can then be saved as a readable text file (usually called PACSRx Translation.txt, where x is the release number). Armed with that, I'd default the switch and go to town reprogramming it from scratch. It should take less than an hour, so you'll be home for dinner.
You won't loose programming but you will have to program the lines into pools and what extension are in key mode and what extension are in pool mode and what pools are used.I have done this many times to working sytems to add a 3910 cordless phone without any major issues.
All of the extensions, except 10, will go into pool mode. In place of their "Line 1" and "Line 2" buttons, will be 2 "Pool 880" buttons, with No Ring. The number of lines that you have programmed in #104 will be in pool 880. Now you need to switch back any extensions that you want to be back in Key mode, and assign the lines that you want to appear, set their ALS and ringing.
Just do a manual backup before you start, so you can put it back if you don't like the outcome.
