I plan to replace the current master drive witch the slave drive (bigger, newer), and reinstall OS (Win XP Pro_SP2). Will there be any problems with the current name of partitions? On the current master there are 4 partitions: C,D,E,F, and on the current slave: I,J,K,L. I plan to reformat one of the partitions (I,J,K, or L) to reinstall XP; I guess that one has to be named as C. Do I have to rename the partitions on both hard drives before making the switch? Thanks for your advice.

If you change the drives Winxp will automatically make the first drive c:(partition) then it will name each other partition accordingly.

So when you go to install Winxp it will show you the installed harddrive and you will pick the c:driver(partition) for you installtion.
