Switch codepage dynamically win2k

Hi All,

Is there a way of switching the windows codepage during the 'fly'. eg. from 1251 to 1252?

The problem is, that I do not want to change the setting for the console only (as I can do it with the mode command) than for the whole windows.

And this is the same with the chcp command. It can also change the codepage for the console only ...

A codepage change, if I understand your question correctly, requires Administrator level access and a reboot. A change in input locale does not.

This thing is good, when you want to change the input locale, but my request is to change the system locale.
