What is the right way of switching the call process from active core to inactive core? I read 2 different ways of performing this again from the NTP.

Cores are in split mode.

Core 0 = active Core 1 = inactive

Option 1: enl cni core 1, dis cni core 0, man int core 1.

Option 2: dis cni core 0, enl cni core 1, man int core 1.

Im guessing this is a CS1000E.

Why is the system in split mode, are either of the CNI's disabled, is there a problem with the HSL. If not can the system not be joined.

Option 1 and 2 will have the same results, it will switch and be operating on core 1 after the sys load.

This is actually for an M1 switch with 25.40 and IODU/C.

switches cores on a running switch.. to split the cores (usually major problems or upgrade)

make sure cni and cpu are active on the side you want to talk on.. so if cpu 1 and cni 1 are active. faceplate switch on that side goes to maint.. then disable the cni's on the standby side.. if you need to software that side, (boot off an install) then plug into the rear of that cpu (j-25?).. press the ini and hold, switch to maint and rls the ini, that will boot off of the install disk.. takes you to an install/upgrade screen
