I was looking at and they have a Flash Gamespy menu bar at the top of the page. When navigating the menu, there are parts of it that overlap the HTML on the page. I didn't know this was possible, but i really want to know how to do it!

Does anyone know how? Miles

Probably using transparent mode! But that works in IE only!
Check the site with NS. Probably redirected on browser detection!

Sorry about that double posting!
Here's where deleting would be useful!

Woah...that could be useful for creating snowflakes on a site if needed, rain, etc...or you could use flash to make a mouse pointer on the PAGE that isn't just in a flash movie or something...I dunno...=P

Any other ideas for being able to use this effect?... ----------------------------------------

Problem is... Only works in IE!

Doesn't matter compatability for me...if that's the problem, I say USE IE OR ELSE!...;)

Also, this answers my question on making a flash movie with something other than a rectangle shape...=)

All I gotta do is make the shape of a background or something...it's cool!

Now, I just gotta find some tricks for it...Maybe I could put HTML behind it, make it Flash, then have a little 'scan beam' then run over it, then display the html...=P

Is there a way to preload HTML items from within flash???!!?? ----------------------------------------

I know, I'm saying run the flash OVER the HTML, and use FScommand or something to alter the document...like a document.write function. ----------------------------------------

oops...yea, my bad, I'm caught on another post...darn...maybe I could use the FS command to see if HTML things are loaded w/ javascript?...would that be possible? ----------------------------------------

I know you can load HTML into a text box, but actually, now that I think about it, I could have it do some of the stuff w/ javascript...like, as soon as it's done with an animation, it flashes, writes the page real quick, and it's up...probably using an Iframe or something...but I dont know. ----------------------------------------

Thanks unwanted! The site doesn't have the cool Flash in Netscape as expected... Why does Netscape have to be so useless!

But I don't care. IE users deserve to be wowed by cool effects like that! Miles

Personally, I've always liked IE better...it's always had a better design, and more functionality...

NN is also opensource now, so watch that browser...opensource could easily hide a small snippet of code for a virus, or anything...

Oh god why didn't they just let microsoft buy them out?...they could be so much richer... ----------------------------------------
