While trying to install a program it gave me the following error: Checking Swap Space: 1008MB Available, 1536MB Required...Failed

Can I add temporarily Swap Space? or How do I add just permanent swap space?

Thanks

You can add swap space a couple of different ways one is to use a separate partition if available and add it to your /etc/vfstab.

/dev/dsk/cWtXdYsZ - - swap - no -

Or

You can create a empty file and add that as swap space it would be like:

mkfile 10m /path/where/to/save/it - this will create a empty 10 meg file.

Then type swap -a /path/where/file/was/saved you can also add this to your /etc/vfstab to be mounted at bootup.

I have a separate partition that I can use and added swap space to it...but it only added 3mb

Is there a way I can specific how much swap space to add?

thanks

I fixed the problem...on the partiton I used c0t2d0s1 the first time and only got 3mb more....then I used c0t2d0s7 and got the swap space i needed....thanks for everything
