SVGA Programming

I am trying to write to the graphics controller in 32-bit protected mode. I have not found any good tutorial on the net which discusses programming SVGA for the 32-bit platform.

Can anyone recommend a good book on SVGA programming for the 32-bit environment?

I don't know about tutorials, but a good place to start is by studying and tinkering with the svgalib samples (That is, if you're using svgalib.)

I am not working with svgalib. I would be happy if I can find a program that worked on Windows 98/2K.
