SVCHOST Keeps Closing Down

All of a sudden, SVCHOST (one instance) closes down on me with an error log created somewhere.

This action prevents "cut and paste" operations and the control panel no longer displays its operations correctly.

Any suggestions on how I can "fix" this???

I think ur system is infected with the latest BLASTER Virus. Please check

http://www.symantec.com

and get the fix for the same.

it is the latest blaster virus. It disables cut and paste and shutsdown your system at times. And all together slows the processes down and halts them.

***disconnect from the network.
1) Install the Microsoft Patch for 2000 or Xp whichever you have.
2) Run the exe virus blaster from symantic(you dont need antivirus running to run this)
3) Install SP4

If you have XP you need to disable system restore or it will regenerate the virus. If you cant get the system up to upload the patches in XP do everything in safe mode.
