When I open up the Windows Task Manager there is one process that is running called svchost.exe (actually multiple instances of it). The one I'm concerned with will use from 20 to 90% of my CPU, even when I don't have anything running. I've closed it out and it doesn't cause any problems with anything I'm doing. I just can't seem to find what is causing it to open up. I've closed everything that is open to try to isolate what causes it to open and I haven't found it. My laptop also has XP Pro on it and this never happens. Any ideas?

Stars to both of you. I already had run both Ad-Aware and Spybot, I finally found the culprit. I was also able to clean up my start up parameters.
