SVCHOST.EXE

Running dual boot OS XPSP2 and Win 98 SE.
When open Windows Task Manager in XP I can see several SVCHOST.EXE i.e:
SVCHOST.EXE LOCAL SERVICE 3,976k
SVCHOST.EXE NETWORK SERVICE 3,560K
SVCHOST.EXE SYSTEM 23,592K
SVCHOST.EXE NETWORK SERVICE 4,384k
SVCHOST.EXE SYSTEM 4,916k

Is a/m normal ,or I have to kill some of processes.I am realy confused ,so many programs with the same name egzist in one system.
Check with Anti virus and Anti trojans programs-nothing found.

Seems that having several SVCHOST.EXE is normal- I have 5, interesting to hear how many of them are on other PC

The more the merrier. I have 6 while online, but it varies in number by 1 or 2, like you say (and 314056), quite normal
