SVCHOST.EXE ERROR IN W2K PROFESSIONAL 2

Has anyone seen this error message " svchost.exe error"? thanks!!
 
Yeesssss. Use the search, theres lots of thread about it.
 
I got the W32.Blaster@mm worm but now my pc is clean. a problem: svchost still crash at anytime I connect to the web. any suggestion?

I, too have been getting an error msg. "svchost.exe has generated an error. The program with be shut down. You will have to restart the program." This happens within 5 min. of connection to the Internet. Any suggestions?
 
Well, I guess the news is correct. This MBlast worm is the most wide spread worm out there.
SVCHOST.EXE generating errors Windows will shutdown the program....What Program?!?...YOU DON'T HAVE A CLUE...it picks one for you!!!

Don't forget to install the Microsoft patch for the problem, or your RPC will continue to be nuked :(

Also, check to make sure the file is svchost.exe, and not svcrhost.exe.
Thats a totally different virus, gaobot or something like that. I started getting hit with that last week and it releases your DHCP every minute or so and stops the RPC service. Remove it from the reg HKLM>LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS>CURRENT_VERSION>RUN. It also resides in the system32 folder.
