Hi,

I've been really struggling with something that should probably be really simple. I'm working on an SV8500 and all I want to do is set up a group containing 3 extensions/stations which will all ring simultaneously when a pilot number for that group is called. I've done quite a lot of digging here and I was looking at something along the lines of Internal Paging Zones, but I believe you can't use that with IP handsets? I cannot for the life of me see how to create a simple hunt group and assign a pilot to it. Can an extension/station be a member of more than one hunt group? Is a hunt group the correct thing or should I be looking to create a different type of group?

The LCPGN command shows me a few groups which already exist, and the stations I want to include in my new group are already in a group (along with many other stations).

We don't have a great deal of documentation on this system, we've got some lists of commands but none of that seems to help me. The SV8500 is quite new to me.

Any help would be great please as I'm stuck.

Thanks,

Dave

ASHP As a pilot hunt, it will call the first station available, then the next. It will not call all 3 at once.
A station can only be assigned to a single Hunting Group, except Secretary Station.
The Pilot station number is assigned in the STN parameter.
Create a virtual extension. Place it on those 3 phones. When called it will ring a 3 at once.
Create the virtual in ASTN, tec 18
Place it on the buttons AKYD + make it ring.

Thanks for the suggestions belevedere,

I ran the ASTN command and got Assignment of Station Number. It asks for Tennant, Old Station and New Station and the only option is to Set:

Is that correct?

Thanks

Sorry, it's ASDT
TN 1
STN = an available station number
LENS = an available LENS number
TEC = 18, virtual
LLEN =
LENS = listout
LSDT = station listout

Virtual LENS' are at the end of a LEN group where no physical port exists. EX: 001240 - 001317

Ok thanks belevedere,

I ran the ASDT command but the SV8500 doesn't seem to like it for some reason. As soon as I try to look up an extension I know exists already I get the following error message:

DSB_ASDT_Error_gtfjmx.jpg

Is there a command I can do that will show me the complete system config, for example something that shows me all of the station LENS's that already exist? I thought there was one but I cannot find it anywhere. I did not configure this SV8500 unfortunately and I have very little (virtually none) documentation on it. I find that most system commands require me to already know what stations exist or what LENS's exist and sadly I just do not have this information. If there was some way to list it all up that would be great. Is there a way that I can do that, please?

Thanks for your help so far, it is appreciated.

Dave

You did not indicate that this is a Hotel/Motel system. Those commands are different.
Try AAST = administration extensions.
AGST is for guest stations (rooms)

Thanks belevedere,

Yes sorry, my bad, it is indeed a hotel. I should have mentioned that before.

I was having a look around various commands earlier and i found the AAST command. I'm still stuck on how to find a spare block of LEN's, though?

Many thanks,

David

Perform a LLEN list out. Start LEN, 000001, end at 012317. (12 PIMs, unless you have more). Look for a LENs like XXX247-XXX317. Those are where a virtual would be programmed. Look for any TEC 18's that currently exist. Those are existing virtuals.

Ok, I've found a bunch of LENS's which were all TEC 18 and I've assigned the next free LENS in that range as a new admin station with the next available free station number. I have set this as a key on the 3 stations I want to ring together. I have asked the hotel staff to call the new virtual station and see what happens (in theory I'm thinking it should ring on the 3 stations all at the same time). I am waiting for them to get back to me with the results. Once i know if it works, I will update this thread.

Thanks again for your help so far belevedere,

David

You just have to create 1 virtual extension, not 3. And assign that same one to a button on the 3 phones that you want to ring if someone calls this one virtual extension.
