Is there a way to apply the updates from SUS to only a few machines on the network? That way I can see if the installed patches would cause any issues with the computers or the software they run. I was hoping to find a way where I could specify which computers receive updates.
 
yes you can, all you have to do is create a OU and move only those particular computer into that OU.
 
rmcp2k is corerct.

1. Create an OU.
2. Move the computers to that OU.
3. Create and link a group policy (that has SUS server settings configured) to that OU.
