Supressing Blank Space

Hi,

I'm using Crystal Reports 10 and database is Oracle 9i.
I have four groups in my report and first three group headers are suppressed while fourth group header is not. Then my Detail section starts. After the 4th group header appears on the first page which is just a single row, the Detail section starts on the second page and I'm unable to get it to the first page. I tried suprress Blank Section, keep group together but of no use.

Please help.

Did you make sure you didn't have new page after checked on the group header (instead of footer)?

Or you may inadvertently have a new page after/before on one of the other group sections.

Thank you both for replying! For sure new page after is not checked. But I have a subreport in the 4th Group Header which retrives just one line and has ! I checked every section in the subreport too and there is only one section in the subreport.

Please help!

If you look to the left of the report display what section name appears where the extra white space occurs? You should make sure that all unused sections of your subreport are suppressed, and you might also want to format the subreport itself to "suppress blank subreport".

I did suppress the unused sections in the report and also the blank subreport. Its Group Header 4 still where the white space appears.

It's likely the subreport then.

Perhaps you are getting blank rows, or you have space in the report header, etc.

Whenever my subreport is not retrieving any data then I don't see this Group Header in my report at all. Its only when the subreport gives me a row of data i see the 4th group header and also the blank space and the detail section starts in he next page.

Did you minimize the size of the subreport in preview mode and snug up the group footer against the subreport border?
