I have a report that contains a chart. When i view the report, i only want to see the chart; but when i export the chart to excel or something, i want to see the data behind the report. i have added a detail section with the data, but i want to suppress the details when the report is viewed, and only show it when exporting the data to excel.

is this possible? am i approaching this the wrong way?

thanks,

joe

You could set up a parameter {?exportornot} and then suppress the detail section conditionally.

what would read the parameter? i am using CE's web control to print/export the object. how would it know that about the ?exportornot param?

thanks,

joe

I just meant you could set it up within CR. I don't know how you'd handle that within CE. You might try the CE forum (forum782).

thanks. i will try the other forum. i wasn't sure if it was a setting in the report i could set or something that i had to do programmatically when i view the report.
