I'm not sure that the other posts I've seen on this subject address my problem so I apologize if this has been answered.

In my crosstab, I have 3 rows: Related Product, Impurity Name, and Acceptance Criteria. Impurity Name and Acceptance Criteria always have a value but Related Product may or may not. For instances where there is no Related Product, I get a blank cell. I'd like to suppress it if possible so only the Impurity Name and Acceptance Criteria appear but not the empty Related Product cell.

Using CR XI.

Thank you.

Hi,

In the CrossTab Expert (right click in the top left corner of your crosstab), under the Customize tab there is an option to suppress blank rows.

If this doesn't work we can explore other options.

I've tried that and it doesn't work. I believe all the rows and the summary fields have to be empty for the entire row to suppress.

Hi Jose,

Could you indicate what fields you have in the crosstab row, column, and summarized fields area.

Hi Gordon,

As stated my rows are Related Product, Impurity Name, and Acceptance Criteria

The columns are months.

The summary is a max of a value for the month.

Thanks.

Jose

So in the crosstab expert there are three row fields ({Related Product}, {Impurity Name}, and {Acceptance Criteria}), one column field (months) and one summary field (Max of date).

If its simply a case of wanting the cell on the left to disappear (so it shifts to the right) when you have no related products. Then you would have two Crosstabs one with just two row fields {Impurity Name}, and {Acceptance Criteria} in different sections one the original one with three. You would then suppress the one you want based on whether there were any relatedproducts. That would give the effect of shifting the crosstab table and removing the blank cell.

Thank you Gordon. Nice, simple solution :)
