I have a H.R. database that a user updates using CF and, when the task is completed, CF loops thru the db and automatically sends "boilerplate" (using HTML)letters to unsuccessful job applicants. Everything works great except as letters are being printed when looping thru the data, I get a header containing "xxx.cfm" Page 1 of 6 and footer dispplaying the URL and today's date.
My question is: Can I suppress these headers and footers to allow the letters to be printed on company letterhead similiar to the way MS Word mailmerge works.

I'm pretty sure that's more a function of the "page setup" of the browser, rather than anything you can do from ColdFusion.

In IE, for example, you can select "Page Setup..." from the File menu, clear out all the codes in the two fields in the "Headers and Footers" section, and you won't get headers or footers.

But it's something the client controls, not the server.

Since it sounds like you have a "captive audience" (ie - this isn't a page that anonymous people will access), you can make sure that they set their browser up properly to get the result you want.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I do indeed have a captive audience. Only one or two people in HR will have access to this. I'll go with your suggestion and work with their browser controls.....
