Is there a patch that will allow SunOs 4.1.x to recognize and use partitions larger than 2 gig? We are using Sparc 5 workstations and cannot upgrade to Solaris 8 for various reasons. We are currently using a 30 gig drive with six 2 gig partions, but we waste a lot of space. It's actually cheaper to buy a big drive than a 4 or 8 gig drive.

Thanks.

This is from SunSolve Doc ID 1227.
Solaris 1.x (Sunos)
Max size of a file 2GB
Max size of a filesystem 2GB

Soalris 2.x (solaris)

Max size of a file 2GB
Max size of a filesystem 1TB

Thanks for the info, but I already know this.
I want to know if 4.1.x can be patched to recognize and use partitions larger than 2gig. I know I can nfs mount a partition larger than 2gig, but df only shows 2gig. I haven't tried filling it over 2gig yet.

From the lack of responses, I suppose it cannot be done.
