the best is to have the console open so you can capture the output at the time of the crash or reboot If you do not have a console, leave the laptop hooked up to it with hyperterminal active. There is no better logs than these.
I'm sure the v245 has some type of LOM, it can probably be set up to capture the output, just a guess though.
Is there a core dump in /var/crash/<hostname> for the date and time of the crash. check /var/adm/messages*, you can run explorer.
Does prtdiag -v show any faults?
All of the above can be sent to Sun if you have a contract, if not, see what you can find.
If you are using metadevice, do a: metastat <enter> and see if you have any metadevices in "needs maintenance" state.
