Hi,

Can anyone recomend any good 'start-off' websites for someone new to pick up Sun?

Thanks

KyoAD
If you want to do system administration work, I recommend formal training. There are instructor led courses, CDRom courses and Web based courses. The instructor let courses are the best because the instructor can answer your questions. But, they are pretty expensive.

Hi KyoAD,

Here are a few of the ones I have found useful:

For the main Sun website:

For Solaris documentation:

For the Sun system handbook:

For Solaris Sys Admin and Patch downloads:

For useful Admin Tools and other "free" software:

For help on specific Sun or Solaris problems:
use the search facility on this website
or
use Google search: solaris + "<keywords>"

For a comparison of Solaris to other flavours of UNIX:

I hope that helps.

Mike
