MY
Good Day

I would like to know where can i find the administrator tool in Sun Solaris. Example in HP-UX we can run "sam" "top" or "glance" command to perform certain administrator task. But in Sun system it totally difference. Where can i get the similar command to replace those i mention. thank you

You can try the following commands: -
sar -r 2 5 (many variations)
vmstat 2 (this is brilliant for memory/cpu availability
mpstat
prstat (Solaris8 only, real time active processes)
iostat

Check man pages for details, ie "man prstat"

In Solaris 8 or above, top is included on the "Software Companion" CD. Once isntalled, you should find it in the /opt/sfw/bin directory.

Thank guys for the help..i really appreciate .. I can start to explore my Solaris system with more confidence. Thanx : )
