I am new to Sun Solaris, how do you keep a machine from going into 'suspend' when the keyboard is removed??

Do a man on kbd.

Basically you need to edit /etc/default/kbd
uncomment line containing KEYBOARD_ABORT=disable

write and quit the file.

Then run kbd -i

This will disable suspend mode when removing the keyboard nor reboot is necesssary.
