Summary Query

I have to summarize some daily data to a monthly aveage for charting.

Date Shift EE Wk
01/05/2007 1 .984 1.023
01/08/2007 1 1.023 .975
01/09/2007 1 .975 .964

What I need for an output is:

Date Shift EE Wk
January 1 .994 .987

I'm not sure how to do this with a query and would appreciate any ideas, thanks.

SELECT Month([Date]), Shift, Avg(EE), Avg(Wk) FROM TableName GROUP BY Month([Date]), Shift
