Sum of Total does not add up

Hi,

I'm having problems with a report where the total for a field does not add up correctly!
The report pulls up the records correctly, does not supress any records but the value in the SUM field is incorrect to the lines on the report.

If i drop the report into excel and sum the column i get the correct value.

I'm using crystal 8.01

You have no conditionally suppressed records correct?

Please confirm how you created the sum. Was it right click on the field to be summed, insert, grand total? If not please share how you did this.

Hi dgillz,

Correct, there is no record supression on the report.
I created the sum by right clicking the db field in the report and inserting a sum.

Hi All,

Just to let you know i've cracked this one so theres no need to respond further.

The problem was due to the field being duplicated (not visibly!) because it was in a group header. Solved the problem by using a running total instead of a sum.
