We have nt4 domain.
we want to upgrade it to win2k AD.
Could anyone point me in the right path on how todo this task?
We have our own Exchange 5.5 server and DNS is configured.
I would personally spit it all across two boxes during the upgrade (build in somesort of redundancy, especially for the ActiveDirectory) (or 3,4,5... machines depending on what else you are running)
There are several different ways of running you system, tell us how you intend on having your system run and i will see if i can suggest the best course of action.
Sorry guys, i forgot to give a clearer picture of our setup;
here it goes:
we have 2 locations, each with own domain joined by trust:
LOCATION 1 has AD installed (xyz.domain.com)on Box A
NT4 Exchange 5.5 on Box B
LOCATION 2 has NT4 PDC on Box C
NT4 Exchange 5.5/DNS/DHCP/WINS on Box D
WIN2K FileSrvr on Box E
WIN2K Gateway/Proxy on Box F
Our access to the internet is on LOCATION 2.
Emails coming in/going out for the company thru LOCATION 2 Exchange.
What I plan is to upgrade LOCATION2 from NT4 to WIN2K AD (abc.domain.com)
NT4 Exchange Box D to WIN2K Box D OS but retain Exchange 5.5
Since there is already a DNS server, how do you propose i approach this?
