Subreport Duplication

Can anyone explain why a subreport would duplicate itself - in its entirety?

Probably a join issue, right?

Main report has only one table and no fields are displayed or used.
Joins on the subreport look like this:

Transactions.CustID -LOJ-> Cust.CustID -Equal-> CustSettings.CustID

Numerous rows for every CustID in Transactions, only one row per cust_ID in Cust Settings.

The subreport is showing the data I'm looking for, only it repeats itself 34 times...

Any help is appreciated.

Consider posting technical information, such as the version of Crystal.

Also, I don't think that you can Left Outer a subreport, so your post doesn't make sense.

And where you've placed the subreport is critical.

I'd guess that you've placed it in the details section, which means for every row in the main report the subreport will execute.

I'm also wondering why you have a subreport if the main report isn't being used. It may be that you are trying to pass something from the main report to the subreport to be used for display when you should be running the subreport and passing a value back for use by the main report.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I apologize for the lack of detail.

CR 8.5

The main report is a shell for four subreports - one for each of four specific types of data.

The join info I posted earlier was for the tables within the subreport not between main and sub.

You are correct, the sub is in the details section and was duplicating once for every record returned by the query.

When I removed the table from the main report, the duplicates have stopped....

Although I am pleased the results are what I wanted, I'm not too sure why it works. Any ideas?
