Stuck agent install?

I have a couple of servers I can't push the ePO agent 3.1 to, the error I get in the frminst log is:

20040330150922 I Ins Common 1224 WaitForSingleObject (Global\MCAFEE_FRAMEWORK_INSTALLER_INSTANCE, 0)
20040330150922 E Ins Common 1224 timed out

And then it aborts shortly after.

It looks to me like the frminst process is stuck (I can't delete it in task manager either). I tried copying framepkg.exe locally and running it but get the same problem.

I can probably resolve this by a reboot but they're both important production servers so I want to avoid this if possible - any ideas?

You can try using Kill.exe from the NT Resource kit to kill the process and then run Frampkg.exe locally again.

If that doesn't work... I would schedule a reboot before going any further.

Yeah in the end I managed to get them rebooted which cured the problem, it's happened on a couple more servers since as well (I'm in the middle of a gradual deployment at the moment) which is a bit annoying - still haven't figured out what causes it yet.
