String Equivlant of Ctrl

Anyone know what the string equilvant of the CTRL key would be? I want to make a barcode that when scanned sends a 'CTRL+F' to the program.

that surely isn't possible. The barcode would have to have a sequence of lines that indicates Ctrl+F, which it wouldn't from my experience.
