stretch background-image?

hi.

i´d like to have a background-image (5oo * 5oo px) stretched to cover the hole browser-window. all i tried failed. what would you suggest me to do?

Go to and sign up for the Macromedia Exchange. You will be able to get an extension that does that, NO PROBLEM. You'll probably find a lot of usefull stuff here that you like the look of.

Get as much as you can from here, The tools plug straight into Dreamweaver and require 1 restart of DW to install. ----------------------------------------

It isn't really feasible to "Stretch" an image accross the background. The best way to accomplish the task is to do one of two things:

1. Make the image 1200*1200 (so it won't tile on most screens), and make sure you optimize it to keep the file size down

2. or put the image in a layer, and set the z-index to 0, so that it stays behind everything else and position it.
