Hi

This is something that has started happening since I reinstalled Windows MCE a few weeks ago to correct some other problems I was having.

This isn't a serious problem but it is something I haven't had before.

In several of my 2D applications my display will blink.
The whole screen will go white for a fraction of a second and then resume as normal at random intervals. This may happen several times in a row or after several minutes of working.

This happens in applications like Adobe Photoshop CS2, and Indesign CS2, PageMaker 6 and I think it did it in Word.

This does not happen in 3D games, like WOW, etc.

My video drivers are up to date for my Nvidia 7800 GTX video card, but I reinstalled them anyway. It didn't make any difference. It's possible that some settings changed during the reinstall of Windows but I don't have a clue as to how to fix this.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Mike

Check the size of your swapfile. Sounds like it's too small, and taking time to swap in and out.

I would also check the freq (refreshrate) that the driver is set to (Display Properties)...

Games, unlike Desktop Apps, use their own Display settings and enforce them, thus it could happen that the 3D games will work flawless with a monitor but Desktop / APPS will not (ie. TFT is set to 75hz but really only handles 60hz, etc)...
